Psychology Board Reform and PERG Update

Continuing with our #ChooseToChallenge theme, we have some updates on the Psychology Board reforms. If you missed our previous email regarding the reforms and PERG, please review this article.

Thank you to all those who have signed the petition so far, we will soon be closing and submitting this petition, so if you haven't yet signed it, please do so here.

I have read every single submission and am continually impressed with the level of support we have from members and the wider psychology community. It is our goal to represent those who have so often been silenced and forgotten and to fulfil our mission of equality, diversity and democracy for all psychologists. One of the submissions ended with a quote that has stuck with me, "Not about me, without me". This short phrase summarises the argument so well. All psychologists deserve to be fairly represented and we believe that is not presently occurring.

In response to our petition the Psychology Board of Australia Chair wrote to me late last week to notify me that PERG has concluded their work with no further meetings planned. You can read my response letter here.

This is not the end of this matter and we will keep members updated on our further action.
