VIC COVID-19 Update

We wanted to update you on the latest COVID-19 information. The Victorian Minister for Health, Mary-Anne Thomas has provided the following key announcements.

  • Victoria’s pandemic declaration will be extended from 11.59pm on Tuesday 12 July for a further three months.
  •  The period when someone is considered a recently confirmed case and exempt from testing and isolation/quarantine requirements has been revised to 4 weeks (down from 12 weeks). 
  •  Mask wearing indoors and in crowded settings is strongly recommended. Mask wearing remains mandatory in Allied Health settings in Victoria
  •  The Minister for Health is also requesting that employers consider working from home arrangements that are most appropriate for their workplace and employees based on individual requirements. 
  •  Positive cases are still required to isolate at home for 7 days from the day they took their test, but they will be able to leave their home to drive a family member to obtain food, if essential. They must stay in the car and wear a face mask at all times.
  •  Vaccination requirements for healthcare workers remains unchanged.
