The Victorian Government released the ‘Victorian Roadmap’ yesterday. We have summarised the key information below.

Schools

Schools will gradually reopen from October 5, starting with year 12 students.

Prep students will return three days a week from October 18, and students in years 1 and 2 will return for two days a week.

The following week, students in other years levels will return on a part-time basis. Year 7, 11 and 12 will be able to attend five days a week from October 26.

Childcare will reopen to the general public on October 26 but only for children whose parents are both fully vaccinated.

Slight easing of restrictions coming

Once the state reaches 80 per cent single-dose coverage, contactless recreation including golf, tennis and bowls will be permitted.

After that, the state's restrictions are expected to remain in place until 70 per cent of the 16-plus population has had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, which is expected on October 26. This is predicted to be when will lockdown will end but there will still be restrictions in place.

80% Fully Vaccinated

It is predicted that 80 per cent of the Victorian population will fully vaccinated around November 5.

This stage will bring much more normality to our lives. Home visits will be allowed, businesses reopened with some density limits and outdoor face masks limited to crowded events.

This is when we hoping/expecting psychologists will be able to return to routine face to face care.

Christmas

Christmas Day we should be able to have up to 30 visitors in our home.

 Vaccinations for Healthcare workers

The Victorian Government announced that healthcare workers must have had one dose by October 15, with dates for other sectors to come.

We have no further information regarding who will be included in the definition of healthcare worker for the mandate. NSW and WA have mandated vaccination for healthcare workers in certain settings such as hospitals and public services. Tasmania has mandated vaccination all healthcare workers in all settings.

As soon as we have further information, we will let you know.

Additional Regional Vic Lockdowns

Reminder the Greater Geelong, the Surf Coast Shire and the Mitchell Shire has entered a seven-day lockdown, this was sent via email yesterday.
