Inappropriate use of psychotropic medicines
Psychotropic medicine affects how someone thinks, feels and acts. The NDIS Commission together with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care have come together and committed to a collaborative action to reduce the inappropriate use of psychotropic medicines amongst people with disability and older people. Access the joint statement from the Commissions, as well as a video and Easy Read information about the inappropriate use of psychotropic medicines.
New resources to support safe and enjoyable meals
Mealtimes are an important part of our daily lives. Having access to mealtimes that are safe and enjoyable is important to reduce the risk of choking and serious health problems; and is essential for your wellbeing.
To help NDIS workers understand how to best support safe and enjoyable mealtimes, there is a new, free eLearning module for NDIS workers.
