Vic COVID-19 PPE for Allied Health in Private Practice settings update
Posted on 17 February 2022
The Victorian Government has updated their personal protective equipment (PPE) guidance for allied health in private practice settings.
Please review the updated guidance in detail here.
The key change relates to the use of eye protection (face shield or googles). Eye protection is no longer required when seeing Tier 1 clients (client who do not have COVID-19 in a general community setting).
A disposable, surgical mask is still the minimum PPE requirement when seeing clients face-to-face in Victoria.
Please note these are minimum requirements and do not apply to residential aged care facilities and other setting such as hospitals. We would recommend that all practices conduct an individual risk assessment and update their COVID-Safe plan.
The health care and social assistance sector guidance webpage has also been updated. Please review this here.
Also, a reminder that the deadline for COVID-19 Booster requirement is approaching. You can find more information about this here.
