Who can join the AAPi?

The AAPi welcomes all psychologists and psychology students. 

What does it cost to join the AAPi?

The AAPi recognises that not all psychologists are the same so we have adapted our Annual Membership subscriptions accordingly.

  • Full-time - $250.00
  • Part-time (3 days/week or less) - $100.00
  • Community/Stakeholder (Non-Psychologist Affiliate Membership) - $100 
  • Retired  - $50.00
  • Students and Provisional Psychologists (Associate Membership) - Free

You can join any time of the year with renewals due on your anniversary date.

Benefits of Membership:

  • Be part of a professional body that represents and advocates in the interests of all psychologists (e.g. to the Medicare review panel);
  • An opportunity to be linked with a community of like-minded psychologists;
  • Ethical guidance if/when needed;
  • Provides evidence of membership to a professional body bound by an ethical code of conduct (which is required by some referral sources);
  • Ability to identify as a member on professional documents/reports;
  • Your membership fee is used to work towards equality in the profession;
  • A Board of Directors who are volunteers and clinicians working in the field;  
  • Having a voice through your membership (the AAPi aims to listen to all members);
  • Keeping up-to-date with what is happening in our profession; and
  • Free "Find a Psychologist" listing on the AAPi website.


Members are entitled to use the post-nominal MAAPi following their name.
