There is a growing fascination around the uses of AI in psychology and this session will show you why. Whether you are new to the space or already using a scribe, this half-day workshop will be eye-opening.
We will do a lightning-fast introduction to what you need to know about AI scribes, touch on the common ethical issues and explore the less discussed issues. We’ll unpack real-world "AI misadventures" and how to manage them. The core focus, however, is on the lesser-known uses: practical, guided experimentation with a range of non-scribe AI tools for everyday practice, including innovative ways to better connect with your clients.
Bring your laptop - this is a hands-on opportunity to work on what matters most to you. By the end of the workshop, you will understand how AI can be used with the following:
- Resource development - produce psychoeducation materials, homework tasks, and amazing graphics and diagrams to use with clients
- Business development and social media - generate professional content, practice promotion, and client communications
- App design - develop a concept or build a very basic prototype
- AI in spreadsheets - learn how to use AI within a spreadsheet, to interpret a spreadsheet or to create a spreadsheet from scratch
- Research - Explore the current literature, understand the limitations and meaningfully utilise findings
- AI as a simulated client and for supervision - practise skills, prepare for sessions, and support reflective practice
Minimal tech skills and digital literacy required. This is your opportunity to watch, learn, and perhaps even surprise yourself with what you can do by the end of the day.
