JOHANNA KNYN

Johanna Knyn is an Australian psychologist, board-approved supervisor, and speaker known for her work in complex trauma, dissociation, and identity complexity. Her area of expertise is in supporting both clients and clinicians when standard therapeutic approaches do not quite fit, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

Johanna has delivered presentations and training across conferences, universities, and professional networks, and is the author of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Dissociative Systems: A Workbook - one of the first resources of its kind to adapt DBT for dissociative systems. Her work focuses on translating complex theory into practical, usable skills, particularly in areas where clinicians often feel uncertain or underprepared. She is particularly interested in helping clinicians navigate dissociation, conflicting internal states, and high-complexity presentations with greater clarity, confidence, and ethical grounding.
