Emily Aylett is an Ahpra registered psychologist, with a Master of Science in Educational Psychology and more than 15 years of experience working with diverse learners, their families and educators in the United Kingdom and Australia. Throughout her career, Emily worked in various school-based wellbeing teams, conducting psychoeducational assessments, mental health evaluations, and providing evidence-based supports. She has also gained significant experience in case management, supporting families and liaising with mental health and child protection services as a NDIS keyworker.
A core part of her work involves providing leadership and professional learning to educators, particularly in supporting students with neurodevelopmental differences such as autism and dyslexia. Emily currently works as a senior allied health officer (psychologist) in the Diverse Learner’s Hub, which is in the Inclusive Education Division of the Department of Education (department). Her role involves recommending evidence-based adjustments to support inclusive education, collaborating with experts from organisations such as Monash University’s AllPlay Learn team and SPELD Victoria.
Emily is deeply passionate about fostering strong, empathetic relationships with children, families, and schools, with a focus on supporting students with diverse needs and promoting inclusive education. She has been working in the Diverse Learner's Hub since 2021 and is currently working on a project with another colleague, analysing the department’s resources on environmental supports for diverse learners regarding their sensory and social-connection needs.
