EMILY WILKINSON

 

Emily Wilkinson is a psychologist with clinical endorsement, an award-winning poet, and founder of Flourishing Space, a program supporting helping professionals to reclaim creativity as a practice of restoration and resistance. She practises clinically at Wise Mind Psychology Clinic in Yarraville, with a particular interest in perinatal mental health. Emily's work sits at the intersection of creativity, decolonising practice, and therapist wellbeing, drawing on Compassion-Focused Therapy, expressive arts, contemplative practice, and the growing movement to decolonise the practice of psychology.

A 2019 Pushcart Prize nominee and co-winner of the Brooklyn Poets Yawp Poem of the Year 2018, Emily has maintained an active poetry practice and studied at Brooklyn Poets (New York) from 2018. She brings that creative life directly into her professional work. She previously presented the AAPi webinar Creativity: A New Future for Therapist Self-Care. Emily is based in Naarm/Melbourne.
