Sahra is the President of the Australian Association of Psychologists, a registered psychologist, and co-director of Mindscape Psychology and Allied Health in Sydney's Inner West. Sahra is an intersectional feminist psychologist, a political psychologist, and is interested in critical psychology, liberation psychology, and how systems of power influence the mental health of individuals and communities, and governs how psychologists work. Sahra has a keen interest in trauma work, identity and sexuality, and working with clients with marginalised identities.
Sahra has been on the Board of AAPi for 6 years, and has contributed to government submissions, senate inquiries, and policy and workforce working groups and reforms alongside her AAPi colleagues to build a psychology profession and workforce that is diverse, unified, and equitable for all. She does lots of media, advocating for psychologists and psychology as often as possible, and can speak forever about topics she’s passionate about.
Sahra enjoys dopamine dressing, cuddles with her kids and her Cavalier, Poe (short for Potato Chutney O’Doherty), travelling, and wishes she could retire and enter her swamp-witch era to sit and crochet by the beach.
