Mindfulness, trauma sensitivity and neurodiversity

Please note the change of date from Wednesday, 28 August to Wednesday, 11 December - 7:00 PM AEDT.

Join Regina Gerlach for this webinar looking into the integration of trauma-sensitive approaches within Mindfulness-Based Programs (MBPs) and their application to neurodivergent clients. This session will highlight the challenges neurodivergent individuals face with traditional, neurotypical programs and offer practical strategies for creating inclusive and effective mindfulness practices.

Participants will gain insights into tailoring mindfulness interventions to be more accommodating and supportive, ensuring that all clients can benefit from these powerful therapeutic tools. If time allows, Regina will be using a case study from Mindfulness-Based Programs (MBCT/MBSR) to share feedback from a complex PTSD client and a client diagnosed with ADHD, illustrating their experiences in adapting to these practices.

Key takeaways include:

  • Understanding the principles of trauma-sensitive mindfulness
  • Adapting MBP techniques to support neurodivergent clients
  • Enhancing your therapeutic practice to be more inclusive and effective.

This webinar is designed for psychologists and mental health professionals committed to expanding their expertise in mindfulness-based approaches and providing compassionate, inclusive care to all clients.
