NAIDOC Week 2024

Posted on 11 July 2024

It’s NAIDOC Week 2024 and the theme this year is ‘Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, loud and proud’.

NAIDOC Week is held each year, honouring the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This week offers all Australians the chance to learn about First Nations cultures and histories, and to join in celebrating the oldest, continuous living culture in the world.

The theme for this year's NAIDOC week honours the resilient spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, calling on us to stand in solidarity and amplify the voices that have long been silenced.

Below are some resources available to celebrate NAIDOC week and foster connection with, and support for, First Nations communities.

  • Amnesty International - How to show genuine allyship.
  • First Nations Futures - A First Nations organisation driving economic justice in Australia, and futures that centre First Nations people and solutions.
  • Seed Mob - Australia’s first Indigenous youth-led climate network, building a movement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice. Their vision is for a just and sustainable future with strong cultures and communities, powered by renewable energy.
  • ANTAR is a trusted Ally and Thought Leader providing Australians with quality information on priorities concerning First Nations rights – sharing with all Australians independent research and analysis.
