This Guardian article highlights serious concerns about proposed changes to the NSW workers’ compensation scheme, which experts warned would make it far harder for workers to lodge successful psychological injury claims. In the coverage, AAPi's Vice President Dr Katrina Norris emphasised that the current system is already unfit for assessing mental health injuries, noting that lifting the permanent impairment threshold to 31% could exclude almost all legitimate claimants. She stated, “This is akin to trying to fit a round peg into a square hole and has created problems with the way claims are assessed and managed.”
