Biography:
Larney is a psychologist, and she is currently undertaking practice endorsement in Educational and Developmental Psychology. Larney is a clinic owner at Inner Light Allied Health in Kilsyth VIC. She completed her Masters of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University. Larney works with clients across the lifespan, especially children, adolescents and young adults. Larney takes a family-centred approach to help children and families meet their personal goals when working with families with young children.
In her approach, Larney utilises evidence-based therapies including, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She takes a values-based and neurodivergent affirming approach with her clients. Further, she has experience in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism, PDA profiles, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Functional Behaviour Assessments and other behaviour, emotional and cognitive concerns.
Larney has nine years of experience working across the lifespan with Neurodivergent clients and their families. She has a particular interest in working with Neurodivergent clients, including females and clients with a PDA profile. Larney enjoys seeing her clients at the clinic with her therapy dog in training, Mako, but also loves supporting clients in their community. Larney also has experience supporting individuals across the lifespan with anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, sensory differences, depression and more.
Larney works her qualified therapy dog, Mako, a 2-year-old Groodle. Mako is full of love and energy. He loves treats, cuddles and walks.
