Purchase a listing here or view current listings here. We also have step-by-step instructions available here.

How do I change my membership type?

If you would like to downgrade your membership type, please reach out to us at [email protected] and advise which category you would like to change to.

Please note: if you’ve already received your renewal invoice and are upgrading your membership, you should see your original invoice plus your upgrade invoice in the cart. Please ensure you finalise both of these in order to complete your membership upgrade.

Members who are fully registered psychologists are eligible to opt-in to be included in the AAPi Find a Psychologist Directory. You can edit your profile in your member portal here. We recommend including as much information as possible, including a profile photo and links to your social media or website, if applicable.

I registered for a webinar but couldn't attend live, where do I find the recording?

All webinars are recorded, and are available to watch on demand in the webinar library after the event. Simply head to the library, search for the webinar, and click play.

How much insurance cover do I need?

Individual members should consider the below in determining the appropriate level of cover:

  • Do you have any contractual requirements to hold a certain limit of indemnity from an “Any One Claim” and/or in the “Annual Aggregate” requirements?
  • What the cost of a claim may be, the cost of defending it, as legal defence costs can escalate into hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  • Usually, the biggest costs are defence costs as even allegations of breach of professional duties and/or negligence may require strenuous defence.
  • Your revenue size, type of clients you work with, risk management procedures and protocols.

It is also worth considering the cost difference between the different limits. A test quote with $100,000 revenue and $2mil PI / $10mil PL for example, is approximately $268.16, whereas a quote for $5mil PI / $10mil PL is approximately $295.40 - a difference of less than $30, for $3 million additional cover.

Refer to the Psychology Board website regarding insurance requirements for Psychologists, or reach out to our partner insurance.com.au for a quote or any questions.

Is my insurance also renewed with my AAPi membership?

Your insurance renewal and AAPi membership renewal occur separately.

If you are insured through our partner, you will receive notification from insurance.com.au when your insurance is due for renewal. For our complimentary policy holders, your policy has a renewal date each financial year.

How do I access the complimentary insurance for students, registrars and provisional psychologist members?

AAPi members who are student, provisional psychologist and registrar members have access to complimentary insurance with our partner insurance.com.au.

To get started with a new policy, please click here.

The complimentary insurance covers someone while they are a provisional psychologist (4+2 or 5+1). This is a standard, Ahpra-compliant policy of $2M Professional Indemnity & $10M Public Liability cover.

What membership type is right for me?

For fully registered psychologists working full-time, our full-time membership type is just $300/year. If you are fully registered and working less than 3 days per week, our part-time membership type is available for just $150/year. Both of these membership types provide the same access to AAPi member benefits.

If you are a student or provisional psychologist, please choose either of the membership types by the same name. Both of these membership types are just $50/year, and also allow for complimentary insurance via our insurance partner, insurance.com.au.

If the categories above don’t apply to you - whether you're a practice manager or another allied health professional - you’re welcome to join as an Affiliate member for just $150/year.

For psychologists who are retired or nearing retirement and working reduced hours, we have a Retired membership option which is just $50/year.

We waive fees for members who are taking parental leave, or other unpaid long-term leave. If this applies to you, please reach out to our team at [email protected] or 0488 770 044.

You can select a membership type and view details regarding the monthly or quarterly payment options available here.

When is my membership due?

AAPi memberships are on an anniversary basis rather than having all members due each financial year.

You will be sent emails when your membership is due for renewal. In the month your membership is due, you will also have a renewal message when you login to our website.

You can check if your membership is active and when it is due for renewal at any time in the member portal. This will also show details relating to your membership category, and when your membership is due for renewal - shown in the example below as 'Paid Through':

Where can I find my invoice/s?

You can find any outstanding invoices, as well as past invoices, in your member portal.

Click on the 'My Invoices' tab - if you have an outstanding invoice it will appear in the 'Open invoices' section, where you can select to pay the invoice and add it to cart. Past invoices can be found in the 'All invoices' section - click on the invoice icon to the right to download a PDF version.

Where do I find my CPD certificate/s?

For webinars that you attend live, you can find certificates for these in your member portal, in the My Events tab, under 'Webinar Attendance'.

For webinars that you watch on demand from the webinar library, you can find certificates for these in your CPD Log under 'Webinars Completed'.

To download your certificate, click on the icon under 'Certificate'.

Why is my profile not showing up in the Find a Psychologist directory?

Fully registered psychologists with a full-time or part-time membership are eligible to opt-in to the Find a Psychologist directory - click here to opt-in and create your profile.

If you have opted in and your profile is not appearing in the directory, we suggest checking that you have included a practice address - a suburb, as a minimum, is required in order for your profile to appear in the directory.
