Biography:
Ange Wallace is a counselling psychologist who specialises in the treatment of addictions, where mental health and substance use are a feature of a client’s presentation.
Ange works with young people and adults, and where required with their support networks. She is highly experienced in using telehealth and telephone communication modalities.
Ange provides trauma-informed, strengths-based recovery approaches during her one on one sessions to identify strategies to best manage triggers related to trauma, stress, grief and loss, mental health and/or relationship issues. She uses trauma informed care principles to assist clients in a person-centred manner, providing evidence-based approaches that best suit the needs of the individual. Ange uses a number of evidence-based approaches including Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (T-CBT), Trauma Focussed Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (TFACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), problem solving approaches, behaviour activation, mindfulness approaches and critical incident stress management.
Ange also works in the fitness industry and has done so for over 25 years, and often integrates her expertise in this industry to inform behaviour activation into her sessions, as well as offering “Walking Therapy”.
Ange has extensive experience with developing and delivering a range of training packages from her experience in forensic settings, mental health, alcohol and other drugs and critical incident stress management. She is adept in being able to provide engaging and interactive training and professional development in face to face and online mediums.
Ange is especially passionate about enabling clients to live their version of “a life worth living”. She seeks to empower client’s to make wise choices and implement strategies that work for them.
