Biography:
Ceril is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologist Inc (AAPi). She holds multiple degrees in psychology and has received training from the Centre of Developmental Psychiatry and Psychology at Monash University for the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders. While Ceril is registered as a general psychologist, she is passionate about working with children and adolescents. She has worked with young children, adolescents and parents in both private and educational settings at primary and secondary level. She has also worked as the head of psychological services at one of Melbourne’s prestigious private schools.
Ceril has experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, social skills, autism, bullying, grief and loss through parental separation, death, trauma, school refusal, behavioural issues (e.g. conduct disorders), learning difficulties, the identification of gifted students, academic achievement, transition to secondary school issues, parenting and behaviour management.
Ceril uses a wide range of evidence based techniques during therapy. Ceril’s primary therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioural however, drawing on other modes of therapy as appropriate (positive psychology, mindfulness, interpersonal therapy etc.).
Ceril’s main passion lies within psychological assessments which include a wide range of batteries. In addition to therapy, Ceril regularly completes intellectual, educational and developmental (Autism Spectrum) assessments of children and adolescents.
Ceril believes that her role as a psychologist is to assist her clients in gaining the life skills that will empower them to manage the challenges they may face and lead a fulfilling life.
